SHORTLIST REVEALED FOR THE UK PLUMBER OF THE YEAR COMPETITION

JT, the UK’s leading shower tray manufacturer and Bristan, the UK’s biggest shower and tap company, have today revealed the ten finalists shortlisted to win the inaugural UK Plumber of the Year 2015 competition.

After being overwhelmed with entries from all over the UK, the judging panel have selected the following ten finalists that go into the next stage of the competition, where they will try to get as many votes as possible. The final ten, in no particular order are:

  1. David Murray – Edinburgh
  2. Gordon Dodds – Gosforth
  3. John Cruickshank – Leeds
  4. Stewart Norris - Lincolnshire
  5. Alan Heywood – Holmfirth
  6. Leigh Hattersley – Stoke-on-Trent
  7. Josh Colbert – Cambridgeshire
  8. Chris Coombs – Bristol
  9. Paul Clarke – Billericay, Essex
  10. Alex Mayer – Ascot

Launched on World Plumber Day (March 11th) earlier this year, the two bathroom giants called on plumbers across the land to enter in a bid to find Britain’s finest. The competition is designed to reward and acknowledge the talents of the UK’s finest plumbers and ask entrants to demonstrate their plumbing, service and business skills.

The ten finalists feature on www.UKplumberoftheyear.com where you find a biography of each. The voting mechanic is simple; all you have to do to vote is click “Vote for Me” for your chosen participant. The closing date for entries is 24th July. The five plumbers with the most votes will then attend an interview session with the judging panel, who will then decide the winner. This person will win £5,000 worth of JT and Bristan products, a session with a marketing company on how to maximise the award and support their trade profile/business, a CAT smart-phone for a year, Helly Hanson clothing and a CK Tools Magma Tool Tote – as well as the honour of becoming the first ever UK Plumber of the Year.

Paul Crossley, managing director of JT, said: “Well done to the final ten who have made the shortlist – it was a tough decision but we believe we have the best entries in our shortlist. Thanks to all that entered the competition and good luck to the finalists in the next stage.”
